A pasta empire is taking shape in the western suburbs. Poppies Pasta opened last fall, and word has spread. Now the independent business is getting ready to expand. Oliver Melgar is the founder of Poppies. His handmade pastas are drawing people from all over the area to his small shop in Villa Park, and soon there will be second location in downtown Glen Ellyn.
