My name is Gary Zidek. Welcome to The Arts Section. Tune into the radio program every Sunday morning on WDCB 90.9 & 90.7 FM or listen to it online here. I'll be showcasing a variety of arts & entertainment stories.
WDCB’s Gary Zidek catches up with renowned conductor Richard Kaufman to talk about his career, film scores and conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
“That’s really what the music does, it takes you on this journey that you’re looking at, just very exciting and fun, beautiful, nostalgic and emotional.” - Conductor Richard Kaufman describing the HOME ALONE score.
Celebrated conductor Richard Kaufman will lead the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a series of performances of HOME ALONE IN CONCERT this month. The southern California native has been connected to the film industry from an early age, and today he specializes in leading orchestras through live film score performances. Among his favorite composers to conduct is the great John Williams, who wrote the HOME ALONE score.
