The Dueling Critics, Kerry Reid and Jonathan Abarbanel, review the Neo-Futurists new steaming production 45 PLAYS FOR AMERICA'S FIRST LADIES.
“This goes to the increasing dichotomy and confusion about what the role of the First Lady should be, should they be seen and not heard, well obviously not, we now expect them to have pet causes and speak out, but if they speak out too much, then they get slapped now for it.” - Kerry Reid talking about how 45 PLAYS FOR AMERICA’S FIRST LADIES explores the precarious role of being First Lady in the U.S.
As Election Day gets closer, the Neo Futurists Theater is taking a look back at White House history from a different perspective with a world premiere virtual production titled, 45 PLAYS FOR AMERICA’S FIRST LADIES. This is a companion piece to a work the Neo-Futurists first released back in 2004 titled, 43 PLAYS FOR 43 PRESIDENTS. In this new collection of plays, the focus is on all of our country’s First Ladies.
45 PLAYS FOR AMERICA’S FIRST LADIES is available for online viewing through November 2. For more information, visit neofuturists.org
