The Dueling Critics, Kerry Reid and Jonathan Abarbanel, review Steppenwolf Theatre's production of THE CHILDREN.

“It’s beautifully acted. Janet Ulrich Brooks as Hazel, Yasen Peyankov as Robin and Ora Jones as Rose, are all master actors, whether they are doing comedy or more serious work, and in this play they get to do both of them.” - Jonathan Abarbanel commenting on the performances in Steppenwolf’s THE CHILDREN.

British playwright Lucy Kirkwood says she wanted to write a play about climate change that was emotionally driven rather than intellectually driven. That was the starting point for Kirkwood’s 2016 play THE CHILDREN. It premiered in London, then opened on Broadway in 2017.  And now Steppenwolf Theatre is presenting the Chicago premiere. Directed by Jonathan Berry, the three character play features Janet Ulrich Brooks, Ora Jones and Yasen Peyankov.

Both Kerry and Jonathan recommend THE CHILDREN.

It continues at Steppenwolf Theatre through June 9.
