“Ericka Mack is the director and choreographer of this production, and I have to give her great, great credit for putting together a smooth and fluid show. She uses more actual dance as opposed to people just moving to music, than you usually see in an off-Loop musical.” - Jonathan Abarbanel complimenting the direction of this production.

Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s musical partnership has produced two studio albums and the musical, BRIGHT STAR. It debuted on Broadway in 2016, and now BoHo Theatre is presenting the musical in Chicago. Inspired by a real story, BRIGHT STAR is set in North Carolina during alternating timelines (20’s & 40’s). The main characters are Billy Cane, a returning GI interested in writing, and Alice Murphy, the editor of the Asheville Southern Journal.
