Steppenwolf unveiled plans for a new 50,000 square foot building that will feature a new in-the-round theater space, a dedicated education floor and additional social areas. WDCB’s Gary Zidek has the story.

WDCB's Gary Zidek has the latest on Steppenwolf Theatre's expansion plans.
Steppenwolf Theatre Executive Director David Schmitz, Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel were among those who spoke about the new project at the groundbreaking event on March 5.
The new structure will be located at 1646 N Halstead between Steppenwolf’s main theater and parking facility.

Steppenwolf’s new theater building is slated to open in the summer of 2021.
