A Conversation With Chicago Artist Mia Park

WDCB's Gary Zidek talks to multidisciplinary artist Mia Park about the National Asian American Theater Conference and Festival being held in Chicago.

"We have some amazing directors of Asian-American identification here in Chicago. But I don't see a lot of them directing plays, outside of maybe, specific (examples) of let's get this Asian-American director to direct this Asian-American play." - Mia Park talking about under-representation in Chicago's Theater community.

Park curates an ongoing series titled OUR PERSPECTIVE that highlights Asia American-written plays.

This week the 6th National Asian American Theater Conference and Festival will take place in Chicago.

The theme of the conference, Revolutionary Acts will engage people in passionate dialogue about social injustice, inequity and active resistance in American culture and consider what we, as theater practitioners, can do about it.
