Gallery Pays Tribute to Late Artist Tony Fitzpatrick

WDCB’s Gary Zidek visits SoNa Contemporary Art to check out the gallery’s new exhibit inspired by acclaimed artist Tony Fitzpatrick.

Artist Tony Fitzpatrick’s passing last fall left a hole in the Chicago contemporary art scene. The acclaimed artist died of a heart attack on October 11. But his legacy lives on in the work of artists all over the city. This Spring, Wicker Park-based SoNa Contemporary Art is celebrating that legacy with a new exhibit titled Pieces too short to save: A survey of contemporary collage. The show will feature pieces from 10 local artists (including Fitzpatrick) who work in collage.
