New Jazz Album Explores History of the Americas

WDCB’s Gary Zidek catches up with renowned saxophonist Miguel Zenón to talk about new album and his upcoming performance at Chicago Jazz Fest.

Saxophonist and composer Miguel Zenon has always taken inspiration from his personal life, often creating music inspired by his Puerto Rican roots. His new album, MUSICA DE LAS AMERICAS, continues in that vein, but with an even broader scope. Zenon presents eight new compositions born out of the MacArthur Fellow’s passion for history, especially as it relates to Latin America.

Zenon will also be performing at the upcoming Chicago Jazz Festival Saturday September 3.
