Classic and contemporary pieces of art are combined in unexpected ways in a new exhibition at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art. The Glen Ellyn-based museum on the campus of College of DuPage is presenting a show titled HOOKING UP. The exhibit pairs classic works by Rembrandt and Andy Warhol with contemporary pieces by local artists like Theaster Gates and Jose Lerma. The unique combinations offer visitors something they’ve never seen before.

In addition to the exhibition, which will be on display through August 7, the museum is also presenting a number of public programs in support of the exhibit. A special reception and artist talk with Britni Mara is scheduled to take place Thursday July 15. A different artist event will take place at Common Good Cocktail House on Tuesday July 19.
