What happens when a visual artist and music artist collaborate on creating something new using archived film that includes everything from scripted motion pictures to home movies?

You can see for yourself at Chicago Film Archives’ upcoming Media Mixer event on Thursday June 30.  

Looking for a way to utilize its vault of archival footage, ten years ago the Chicago Film Archives launched the Media Mixer program inviting a visual artist and sound artist to work together on creating something new using existing pieces of film. Three artistic duos will be premiering new pieces of work at this year’s Media Mixer.

Chicago Film Archives’ Media Mixer event is taking place on Thursday June 30 at 8:30 pm at Constellation. Three new works will be screened for the first time ever. You can find more information at chicagofilmarchives.org
