“Each year is a little bit different, I think if anything, the pademic has taught us that, nothing is guaranteed. You have to be flexible, as an organizer, or a filmmaker or audience member, you have to be flexible and understand that things may change. And you gotta go with it, that’s all you can do.” - Midwest Film Festival executive director Erica Duffy talking about adapting to the conditions that have arisen over the past two years.

The traditional awards season is delayed a little bit in 2022, the Oscars won’t take place until March 27. But there is a film awards show much closer to home, If you’re looking to scratch that awards show itch, the Midwest Film Festival is presenting its annual Best of the Midwest Awards on Tuesday, February 1 at CinceCity Studio in Chicago. The Chicago-based film organization will be recognizing the best in Midwest-based filmmaking with a special in-person gala event.

Beyond the Best of the Midwest Awards, the MFF will continue presenting new films throughout the year, including a return of First Tuesdays, a series of screenings on the first Tuesdays of the month. You can find out more information about the Midwest Film Festival by visiting midwestfilm.com.
