CLEAT Puts Spotlight On Sound

A unique speaker system is opening up new avenues for artists who work in sound. The one-of-a-kind 16-channel speaker system was created by the Chicago Laboratory for Electro-Acoustic Theatre, aka CLEAT. Thanks to a partnership with Chicago-based Elastic Arts, the CLEAT system is now accessible to a wider audience. The cutting edge speakers reside at the Logan Square neighborhood venue, which presents a monthly CLEAT listening and performance series. Artists working in sound are able to push boundaries even further thanks to the system’s 16 omni-directional hemisphere speakers.
