The Blues takes center stage in Porchlight Music Theatre’s latest production. The Chicago theater company is reviving BLUES IN THE NIGHT, a musical that originally premiered in New York in the early 80s, but has been somewhat forgotten over the years. Set in 1930s Chicago, BLUES IN THE NIGHT features songs originally performed by Bessie Smith, Johnny Mercer, Alberta Hunter and Duke Ellington. Porchlight’s first mainstage production of 2022 is directed and choreographed by veteran theater artist Kenny Ingram and stars Felicia P. Fields. Donica Lynn and Clare Kennedy.
