“(Mayer) had this idea for a movie that was going to be shot all in one location, mostly improvised with a loose script. He came to me early in the process, (with) a rough draft of the script, and said ‘would you take a look at this, I think you would be prefect for this role and I would love for you to work on developing this character and this script with me’. I read it, and I loved it, and I said yes”. - BIG HOUSE actor and producer, Ellie Reed describing how the film came together when writer/director Jack Lawrence Mayer approached her with an idea.

The complex nature of relationships, both by blood & by choice, are explored in the new indie film, BIG HOUSE. The movie captures a single day of what is supposed to be a fun birthday weekend for a group of young people, but transforms into a revealing comedy of errors. Written and directed by Jack Lawrence Mayer, BIG HOUSE stars Chicago-area-native Ellie Reed as Claire, a woman facing a crisis of sorts when her romantic rendezvous with String is crashed by Zach, the man she’s engaged to. And it’s all going down in a house her father used to accommodate his extramarital affairs.
