Classical trumpeter Mary Elizabeth Bowden was back in the Chicago-area for a special concert with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. It was a homecoming for the New Lennox native, who was a member of the C.Y.S.O. as a teenager. This past Sunday, Bowden performed the Midwestern premiere of Concerto for Trumpet. She also received the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra’s 2021 alumni award. Bowden plans to record Concerto for Trumpet for an upcoming album.
