“It’s very raw, it’s very immediate. Because it is ongoing, we can look at this as a cautionary tale, but its not necessarily with hindsight, its with this is ongoing now, I think that’s what makes it important. I’m sure in the future, there will be many playwrights who will write about this time in history, they might use more metaphorical approaches. But I think what we really do need right now, is to honor the people who literally are on the frontlines, their stories, raw, unvarnished.” - Kerry Reid talking about the immediacy of THE LINE.

The acclaimed Public Theater in New York City is presenting a world premiere streaming play titled THE LINE. The documentary play was co-written and directed by Jessica Blank, she and fellow co-writer Erick Jensen conducted interviews with medical workers who were on the frontlines of the COVID-19 battle in New York City a few months ago. Those interviews were used to create seven stories that make up THE LINE.
