WDCB's Gary ZIdek talks to author J. Ryan Stradal about his new book, THE LAGER QUEEN OF MINNESOTA.

“As Edith says in the book, she didn’t see the point of complaining in a world that never ran a want ad looking for a complainer. So, that kind of ethic is prevalent just about anywhere that people have to work paycheck to paycheck, and I think about that a lot that when writing these characters, that I don’t see very often in fiction.” - author J. Ryan Stradal talking about his approach to creating the characters in THE LAGER QUEEN OF MINNESOTA.

Author J. Ryan Stradal’s new book THE LAGER QUEEN OF MINNESOTA dives into a complicated family narrative set against the booming beer. The story is centered around two sisters, Edith and Helen, who have been estranged since their father died and left the family farm to Helen in the late 60’s.

THE LAGER QUEEN OF MINNESOTA is available everywhere books are sold. J. Ryan Staradal will be in Chicago for an event at the Book Cellar (4736 North Lincoln Avenue) on September 28.
