“As I grew as a person and was going through changes in my own life, it’s me and Rachel (co-writer Rachel Borgo) projecting our thoughts and feelings into this character (Jeff), of how we feel about change, coping with the rug being pulled out from under you. I am a creature of habit, and I like to do things the way I like to do things, and when things change, it’s an uncomfortable feeling for me.” - filmmaker Kendall Goldberg talking about some of the underlying themes of coping with change in WHEN TRIED TO SAVE THE WORLD.

Goldberg co-wrote the script for WHEN JEFF TRIED TO SAVE THE WORLD with friend Rachel Borgo. The plot revolves around the title character, Jeff, a thirty-something computer engineer, who is working as a bowling alley manager. When Jeff learns the alley is on the verge of being sold to developers, he launches a plan to save the business, while also dealing with some family drama and a potential new romance.

Goldberg has spent a portion of this year taking WHEN JEFF TRIED TO SAVE THE WORLD to different stops on the film festival circuit. But this week’s screenings at the Music Box Theatre represent a homecoming of sorts for Goldberg. The 23-year-old grew up in the south suburbs and Munster Indiana.
