The Dueling Critics, Kelly Kleiman and Jonathan Abarbanel, review Marriott Theatre's production of SWEET CHARITY.
“I think Anne Horak, who plays Sweet Charity, is the reason to see this production. And like Gwen Verdon, she is on fire, she can do everything, she is extremely appealing.” - Kelly Kleiman talking about Ann Horak’s performance as Charity Hope Valentine in Marriott Theatre’s production of SWEET CHARITY.
With music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by Dorothy Fields and a book by Neil Simon, the original Broadway production of SWEET CHARITY, directed by Bob Fosse, premiered in 1966. It went on to win 9 Tony Awards that year and has continued to be revived every year at theaters all over the country. Now the musical is back on stage in the Chicago-area at the Marriott Theatre.
