Richard Wright’s 1940 novel NATIVE SON serves as the source material for Lifeline Theatre’s latest. This is actually the company’s second staging of Nambi E. Kelley’s adaptation. The first was ten years ago. Set in 1930s Chicago, NATIVE SON tells the story of Bigger Thomas, a young Black man who accidentally starts a chain of events that change the course of his already challenging life.

Lifeline Theatre’s production of NATIVE SON continues through June 30.
