Should a mistake someone made when they were 17 haunt them for the rest of their life? Obviously it depends on the mistake, and how it affected those impacted by the mistake. The new play RIGHT TO BE FORGOTTEN dives into the gray area of perpetual public shaming in the internet age. It comes from Brooklyn-based playwright Sharyn Rothstein and is getting its Chicago premiere at Raven Theater.

In the play, a man in his late 20s is finding it hard to escape a cringey series of incidents he was a part of ten years prior. His situation is the jumping off point for a large discussion about quote-unquote “right to be forgotten” legislation that’s been passed in some European countries, that allows people to request certain things be scrubbed from the internet.

Raven Theatre’s production of RIGHT TO BE FORGOTTEN is running through April 2. Go to raventheatre.com for more info
