“I hope that people take away a lot of questions, maybe about the music, but also maybe about things that are larger than ourselves, I think that this piece leads to a sense of contemplation.” - Spektral Quartet violinist Clara Lyon talking about what she wants audience members to take away from ENIGMA.

Spektral Quartet

The Adler Planetarium’s Grainger Sky Theater will be the site of an ambitious multimedia performance built around Chicago-based string ensemble, Spekral Quartet. The Grammy-nominated group will present the world premiere of ENIGMA during four performances on April 7 & 8. The project is the result of a collaboration between Spektral Quartet, renowned Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir and video artist Sigurður Guðjónsson. After a pandemic pause, the years-in-the-making project will be presented in its intended form, a live concert with moving imagery projected on the Grainger Sky Theater’s domed ceiling.

The Spektral Quartet’s ENIGMA will make it’s world premiere at the Adler Planetarium Thursday April 7 and Friday April 8, with two performances each night. You can find more information at spektralquartet.com
