WDCB’s Gary Zidek asks film critic Nick Allen about some of his favorite films of 2019 that may flown under peoples’ radars.

WDCB's Gary Zidek sits down with RogerEbert.com assistant editor Nick Allen to talk about some of his favorite films from 2019.

“By September we’re going to be in festival season, so there will be movies having their world premiere at Venice, Toronto or Telluride, and they kind of set the stage for the movies we talk about the rest of the year.” - Nick Allen talking about the progression of the film release seasons.

We’re in period in between the summer blockbuster season and the fall when more “prestige” award contenders will be released. So August is the perfect time to catch on some of the movies you might’ve missed earlier this year.
