"We have standard jazz big band instrumentation, but we do very little straight-ahead swing type stuff. Most of our music kinda fits more of a rock, or R&B or fusion type genre, and even melding in some classical elements as well. Some people might associate big bands with a very specific type of music, John Dorhauer the founder of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Players describes the group as a new music jazz big band … that doesn’t act like a traditional big band.

HUP has monthly gigs at the Chicago Magic Lounge and Phyllis' Musical Inn. And the band will be performing music from the Beatles' Abbey Road on Saturday September 9 at the West End Arts Festival in downtown LaGrange.
