The Arts Section 10/27/19: DEAD MAN WALKING Opera + Local Indie Film

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek previews Lyric Opera’s new production DEAD MAN WALKING. The contemporary work is based off Sister Helen Prejean’s best-selling book that was also adapted into an Academy Award-winning movie 20 years ago. Later in the program, Gary talks to the star of a new horror film that was filmed in the Chicago-area in a house that’s supposedly haunted. The Dueling Critics, Kerry Reid and Jonathan Abarbanel, stop by to review a new production titled SUNDOWN YELLOW MOON. And Chicago music writer Dennis Polkow sits down with Chicago Symphony Orchestra music director Riccardo Muti and composer Bernard Rands.
