On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek gets into the spirit with some holiday-themed features. First up, a preview of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s annual MERRY MERRY CHICAGO program. Gary talks to vocalist Storm Large and visits a rehearsal for the Young Naperville Singers as they prepare for their Orchestra Hall debut. A little later, Gary sits down with the co-creators of a new stage production that parodies Hallmark Christmas movies. Cassie Belek & Phylicia McLeod are Hallmark die-hards and turned their love of made-for-TV holiday movies into a comedy stage production, A SNOWGLOBE KISSMAS. The Dueling Critics, Kelly Kleiman and Jonathan Abarbanel, swing by to review Steppenwolf Theatre’s new production of FAMILIAR. And Gary takes a closer look at one of Chicago’s most popular food traditions this time of year with a visit to a bar famous for their TOM AND JERRIES.
