“Her story really resonates right now, with what’s been going on in the United States in the last year and a half. Her documentation of dialogue and dialect, and personality speaks to the whole country right now.” - FLANNERY co-director Elizabeth Coffman talking about what she hopes viewers take away from the documentary.
American writer Flannery O’Connor only lived to age 39, but her legacy remains over 55 years after her death. A new documentary takes a closer look at the revered, and some might say controversial, author. The film, titled FLANNERY, will make its broadcast premiere on Tuesday March 23 on PBS stations all over the country. Though O’Connor spent most of her life in the south, the roots of this documentary were planted in Chicago when two Loyola professors (Mark Bosco & Elizabeth Coffman) got together a decade ago.
