WDCB's Gary Zidek talks to Threadless founder & CEO Jake Nickell about the company's pivot to making face masks.

“They’re just flying. I mean artists shops, the t-shirts that we sell on there are typically 90% of our business, and the masks are outselling t-shirts a this point.” - Jake Nickell, founder/CEO of Threadless talking about the response to the company’s new cloth face mask line.

A Chicago-based company’s recent efforts are helping multiple stakeholders during these troubling times. Back in March, as the COVID-19 pandemic ramped up, Threadless started a cloth facemask line that gives artists some new opportunities and raises money for a worthy cause. Threadless decided to donate 100% of its net facemask proceeds to the humanitarian aid organization, MedShare. The first goal was to raise $100,000 after that was quickly met, the company increased it’s goal to $250,000, that’s since been surpassed and now the target is $500,000.
