The new movie, EIGHTH GRADE, depicts the hard-to-watch awkwardness of those early teen years. The scripted dramedy comes from comedian Bo Burnham. He wrote and directed the indie which premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival.

EIGHTH GRADE follows Kayla as she makes her way through her final week of middle school. The character is played by Elsie Fisher, who gives one of the most heartfelt performances of the year as a teen attempting to navigate the highs and lows of being 13.
