WDCB's Gary Zidek visits HAPPY PLACE Chicago and talks to the founder, Jared Paul.
"I had this idea, that this was an emerging genre of entertainment. I enjoy going to these things myself. We know we're not alone, but we're on the forefront of this new genre." - Jared Paul, founder of HAPPY PLACE
The Chicago version of HAPPY PLACE is located in an industrial area of the Noble Square neighborhood. I made my way to 1004 N. Elston Avenue, from the back it just looked like a warehouse with bright yellow windows ...
But it was clear I found the right spot when I made my way around to the front.
Inside the yellow warehouse sits a new breed of pop-up installation designed to create joy and some unique Instagrammable moments.
The 20,000-square foot industrial space has been transformed into 13 unique rooms, each offering visitors a unique experience and photo-op.

In another room, it looks like a field and sky of golden flowers ...
The set-up allows visitors to pop-up from underneath for a fun photo-op
