Gary caught up with Spero at his grandparents house in Highland Park a day before he performed with Spirit Fingers at the Hideout in Chicago.

"If we can't embrace something within the first five seconds, we move on to something else. And that's not how you find greatness, that's not how you find art. You find it by sitting in front of a painting and staring at it for an hour and maybe you'll see what's going on. Have you seen a Jackson Pollock painting? You can sit for ten hours and find something new in every moment that you're sitting there.
