The Arts Section 12/27/20: DCASE's Mark Kelly + Best Jazz of 2020

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek checks in with Chicago’s Commissioner of Cultural Affairs and Special Events Mark Kelly for their annual end of the year interview. Obviously 2020 was a challenging for everyone, but the arts were hit especially hard. The Dueling Critics, Kerry Reid and Jonathan Abarbanel, join Gary to talk about the way the local theater community persevered during in 2020. Later in the program, WDCB’s own Paul Abella and Leslie Keros will stop by to talk about their favorite jazz releases from the past year. And Gary talks to the executive director of the Luxembourg American Cultural Society about its efforts to celebrate Luxembourg culture and an upcoming virtual jazz concert.
